Nokia Cellular Data Suite (NCDS)

Nokia Cellular Data Suite 2.0

Offered by Nokia in the current versions 2.0 and 3.0. You can connect your Nokia with a PC via infrared connection or the supplied datacable. Using this equippment your phone acts as a modem (transmission speed 9600 bps). In addition to this you can read and write SMS and manage your phonebook via PC.

Nokia PC Composer

Nokia PC Composer

Is contained in the scope of supply of the NCDS. Thus ringtones can be composed or converted by *.mid files. Max. 130 notes are possible; when converting a *.mid file only max. 130 notes of thefirst channel are considered. The ringtones developed in such a way are sent via DAU-9P cable or infrared connection to the phone. Nokia 61xx series can store one ringtone at a time. Each new tone sent to phone will overwrite previous one.

Group Graphic Editor

Group Graphic Editor

This program from Kessler Design enables you to create group graphics on your PC. These group graphics can be sent to your phone using infrared connection or any phone using SMS (NDCS needed for this function). Operator logo files (NOL format) can be processed, too. Using a cable connection you only can send logos using SMS, no direct logo upload to local phone possible (of course you can send SMS to your own phone).

Operator Logo Uploader

Operator Logo Uploader

Also this program originates from Kessler Design. Nokia 3210, 5100, 6100, 7110, 8210, 8810, 8850, 9110 support operator logos. Operator logos are displayed in place of the textline with the name of the operator (network carrier) while phone is looged onto network. Only one logo can be stored in the phone. If phone is logged on another network normal text with name of current operator will be displayed. With PC a logo can be sent to the local phone using infrared or any phone using SMS. Same restrictions as mentioned above (Group Graphic Editor) apply.

Group-Graphic and Operator-Logo Editor for DOS

Group Graphic Editor for DOS

A DOS program, which can create group graphics and operator logos and send directly via infrared to phone (infrared connection mandatory necessarily - no cable functionality). Additionally the program can receive group graphics from phone. Programmed by John Chang from Taiwan this program is fewer than 64 KB and doesn't need to be installed. And this all is freeware!
Note: if you want to load the graphics as operator logo into the phone, MCC (mobile Country code) and MNC (mobile networkcode) must be entered to indicate to the respective network carrier.

Nokia Logo Express

Nokia Logo Express

A freeware program by Jeremy Wu from Taiwan. Supports group graphics and operator logos and startup logos and ringtones which are displayed after entering PIN when phone is turned on. If a welcome note (Menu 4-4-4) is stored in phone startup logo will not be displayed. You can use this program via infrared or cable connection without NCDS installed. Netmonitor can be activated. Since version 3.0b1 8210/8850 are supported.

Logo Manager for Nokia Phones

Logo Manager for Nokia Phones

The program officially still is in beta phase. It administers group graphics, operator logos and starup logos. A demo version is freely available. The word Demo will be inserted into every logo before sending to phone. Cable an infrared connections are supported. It's possible to save directly to phone. Startup logos can be read from phone. The program can activate netmonitor and send ringtones.

Attention! Everyone, who plays with the following programs, should already know exactly, WHAT he wants and HOW it works. The possibilities of these service programs are rather unimportant for non-professionals. Therefore: keep your fingers away from these programs, even if they are spread times by times on the Internet! With some bad luck afterwards the phone does not function any longer.

PC Locals

PC Locals

PC Locals serves for the software maintenance of Nokia mobile phones under DOS. The probably most well-known function is the activation of netmonitor without having the EEPROM out-soldered. PCLocals is not officially available. In order to avoid relevant email from the beginning: I do not know, where to get this software and mails with this contents will not be answered.

Netmonitor

Netmonitor

Netmonitor is a Windows program for activating netmonitor. In addition a datacable (Mbus) is necessary. This program is published partly on the Internet, however I don't know where. Happy searching.
